For nine years he ran supply chains for the Red Cross, where aid is hardest to move: forecasting need months ahead, procuring across closed borders, moving it the last mile where the roads had given out. Then six years pricing ocean and road freight on the coast. In both, the same instinct surfaced. When the system was the problem, he built a better one: a quoting tool that did the work of two people, a three-month audit rebuilt to take a day.
